I know that it's important to confirm with rigor observations that seem obvious, but this is the least surprising headline I've read in months.

For real!

I’ve been reading books about politics in the 1990s, and the National Rifle Association convinced millions of people that if Bill Clinton was elected in 1992, all of their guns would be taken away.

This “slippery slope” thinking led directly to both the Waco siege in early 1993 and the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995.
