A place to discuss comic books of all types, from old to new, Big 2 to indie, and everything in between.

Floppies, graphic novels, compilations, omnibusses (omnibusi?) are all fair game.

There is only one rule:*

Comic Books is a no judgement zone.

You can talk all you want about how Rob Liefeld is trash, Bob Kane is an asshole, or Frank Miller and Dave Sim’s politics have made them toxic, that’s all good.

If, however, another user is LEGITIMATELY a fan of something you don’t like, that does NOT make them a lesser person. Attack the art for being bad, not the person for being a fan of bad art.

* I lied. There are TWO rules... No piracy. Cover shots? That's good. Interior pages, in moderation? Sure. Full books? Links to pirate sites? That's how we get things shut down. :(

I'm not saying it's been a problem, because it hasn't been.

I haven't been feeling well so I've been slacking on the "new and notable" section.

It was weird getting to the shop and being surprised!

Stuff I'm checking out, you do you!

Assorted Crisis Events #7 - What happens to normal people in a world continually in crisis events?

Bad Idea: Ordained #1 (Of 3) - Bad Idea does good stuff and I'm a sucker for anything physical only. A lot harder to pirate something that doesn't have a digital edition.

Batman Gotham By Gaslight A League For Justice #6 (Of 6) - Finally putting a pin in the latest Gaslight adventure! What was originally a 12 issue run got split in half.

C.O.R.T. Children Of The Round Table #4 (Of 6) - Group of kids using weapons posessed by the spirits of Arthur and the round table. It sounds unhinged when I say it that way, it is!

EC Comics:
Shiver SuspenStories 2 #1 - Love the new EC!

Ghost Machine:
Geiger #19 - TBH, I'm behind, last we saw Tariq had been captured and was being tortured?

Spider-Man And Wolverine #8 - Wait, that's still going? I thought it was a 6 issue mini? Guess not!

Spirits Of Violence #3 (Of 5) - The various Ghost Riders (spirits of vengeance) team up against the spirits of violence.

Star Wars Han Solo Hunt For The Falcon #4 - I don't typically buy media adaptations of other media, but the tone of Han and Chewie looking for the lost Falcon just prior to the events of Force Awakens has been on point.

Ultimate Black Panther #23
Ultimate Spider-Man #23
- Getting near the end of the Ultimate runs I think? One more?

Absolute Batman #15Joker is absolutely terrifying in this eldritch abomination form. He's also basically in prime Batman shoes, he has money, butler and even jokecave. Batman is cooked again.

Still not reading any current series right now, but I might stop by the comic book store just to see if anything catches my eye. I think I want to start reading something from DC's absolute universe, but I haven't decided what yet.

Maybe also an indie comic.

Absolute Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are all great series. I enjoy AB the most for its insane action.

However, if you want something experimental, then i can wholeheartedly recommend Absolute Martian Manhunter. It's a trippy journey which delves into human psyche and societal issues coupled with unique art.

For indie stuff, I really like what DSTLRY has been doing. Big, magazine sized books. Creator owned. Lots of good titles to pick from.
