I listened to the supreme court discuss redistricting, and the legal arguments seemed to completely disregard the obvious nature of the purpose of redistricting, they focused only on legal precedent. You can't just ignore what everyone knows and what everyone is thinking and look for a legal reason to allow redistricting.
