At least 174 people have died in Indonesia and a further 55 people in Thailand after a week of record-breaking rain, flash flooding and landslides.

Meteorologists say the current extreme weather in South-East Asia could stem from the interaction of two active systems, Typhoon Koto in the Philippines and the "rare" Cyclone Senyar in the Malacca Strait.

What's next?

Rescue efforts are underway as teams battle to reach stranded communities cut off by landslides and floods.
