Finally, Atre caved and offered to write two new paychecks, but on one condition: Lindsay and Charters had to perform between 300-500 pushups each, which they did. “They were humiliated in front of people doing pushups,” Santa Cruz County detective Ethan Rumrill testified.

Im always surprised that characters like this are real. Seems like the typical bad guy in pop-corn movies.

Atre was far from your typical sweetheart tech magnate.

Uh. Is there actually any such thing? Every tech bigwig or, indeed, any high level business person in general I've ever had exposure to has been a monumental dickhead. Bar none, and without exception.

I know exactly two, a CEO and CTO, who are actually level-headed and don't talk down to others like garbage.

But who knows, that may change.

How the rest plays out remains to be seen. Lindsay is one of the two who’s already been sentenced to life in prison — while Charters currently faces charges including robbery, kidnapping, carjacking, and homicide.

I think it's time for all billionaires and CEOs to develop a deep, primal fear of the common man. There are far more of us and we will only be pushed so far.
