Some servers don't seem to be doing any vetting, allowing a lot of repost accounts, bot accounts, and karma farmers (even though we don't show karma in lemmy).
All we can do is report those accounts, block them, and if the servers keep allowing spammers, then block those servers.
I just hope there will eventually be a solution that doesn't require tired server owners to sift through registrations and posts all day.
I don't even get messages from the fediverse chick anymore :(

The Lemmy.world case is well known. It's a user that creates short-lived accounts to dump a lot of links, then delete the account to avoid getting banned.
That user has been doing that for a few months now, maybe you didn't notice his accounts before today.
