Trump is giving Argentina billions because they helped make him billions through his little crypto pump-and-dump.

The number of people who are willing to believe anything that amounts to "Trump regime days numbered! Collapse Imminent! He's preparing to flee the country!" is honestly a bit staggering. I'm not sure which would induce more skepticism. The idea of a guy with an enormous paramilitary force at his disposal who is currently floating the idea of arresting all the leaders of the opposition party thinking he's going to need to flee the country. Or just the idea that Trump is capable of thinking four years ahead in time.

"I'm using $40B of US Treasury money to pay Milei so he can bribe people to win the election next week. And he'll kick back a big chunk of it into my pocket" is the easy, obvious, no-shit answer to this question. But "Trump Collapse Imminent!" is so much more seductive an idea. FFS, Milei was supposed to be the one on the verge of losing control of Argentina and fleeing to the US, just a month ago. Now it's the other way around?

The idea that the US will ever hold anyone powerful accountable is crazy. We didn’t even kill slavers after their rebellion. Trump is in no danger unless the US falls and is replaced by something different.

He's already found guilty of crimes and others were being prosecuted. They were paused (for no good reason) when he won. They could resume.

That’s Brazil not Argentina.
