I first started on the "Overton130" design several years ago. At first, like most homebrew small-run designs of the time, it did a sandwich cse. I eventually added inserts to close the gaps on the case, but it still didn't feel commercial-grade.

JLCPCB, aside from making the PCBs, has a huge resin printer on offer and I tried a case inspired by the Focus FK-9000 (not shown), but I still wanted something that said "bought" rather than "built" so I spent a fair bit of time in FreeCAD riffing on the nicest industrial design on the 1980s.

Key specs: Box Pale Blues, NovelKeys stabs, G90 Galvanized Steel plate, 3mm thick aluninium sheet bottom. The PCB (4th revision) uses a CH32V305 MCU breakout (it theoretically supports a Teensy++ but that hasn't been tested) and custom firmware. Main caps are AFSA Chocolateur knockoff, top row is MA with home laser charring, and the left block is home-lasered XDA, in the weird dark-orange colour YMDK sells.

FYI that's a 15 meg image you attached. You might want to optimize that and upload a smaller version

More specifically, please don't use PNG for photos. Just converting to JPEG should do the trick.

I think this instance does something weird with images. It was a ~4MB JPEG on the device, but when I downloaded it again, I got a webp listed at ~750kb, but it absolutely crawls to download. I just uploaded a 2000x1500 JPEG (~230k on disc) to Imgur to fix the performance.

Yeah, the personality would be abrasive but he was basically the first hunk-coded character in the game.

This is actually my second one; a friend purloined my first one upon discovering the ergonomic charms of oni-boobs.

I love old style Unix era keyboard, with the side and extra function keys.

Its just such a tribute to old school keyboards Well done!

So to clarify this is a custom PCB in a custom case? The end result is very impressive, and looks totally manufactured. I'm a big fan of media keys on the left, and you never can have too many F keys

Yep. Been riffing on the PCB for a few years, so now I have seperate units for home and work wuth different cases.
