When something seems too easy, difficulty is hiding in the details. The master expects great difficulty, so the task is always easier than planned.

I think these kinds of thoughts are often intrusive. There may be an element of assuming the worst to prepare yourself, but intrusive thoughts are sneaky fuckers and so it's important to question them.
