Yeah, what the title says. So many of them, pro-Israeli. I say this as a latinamerican spanish speaker myself (Chilean). It's absolutely absurd to see how many of them will go defend Israel in a heartbeat (and defend Ucraine too in comparison). Just look at the comments on Spanish videos of the flotilla. Also, I didn't tag it in spanish because Idk how many really speak the language here, I'd be thrilled to talk with someone about it.

First of all, the internet is highly astroturfed and full with Miami gusanos or Hasbara trolls. From my side, I know plenty of chileans and they are actually organizing for Palestine.

Also, don't forget that Chile has a big diaspora from Palestine. Almost 500 k people. I send this invitation to join this protest from one of my chilean friends.

Also a point to take in mind is that most people commenting on YouTube videos are of the older side which are more likely to be reactionaries.

Country dependent I suppose. Chile and Argentina are going to have high numbers pro-israel and pro-us ppl of because those countries helped the US kill all their leftists for several generations.

A lot of catholics too are going to follow the vatican's pro-genocide line.

YouTube commenta do not represent reality, not like even remotely close.

is the classic: usa is an international reference for the cipayos who copy the worst about the us, and given that palestine is something defended by "zurdos" naturally the most brainwashed by the gringos will be against it. es la wea de siempre

just because someone is from latin america doesnt mean they are a leftist or lib, many of us are chud or worse just look at the presidents in colombia before petro.

Chile is also a well known right wing bastion in latin america.

Don't forget all of those countries started as settler colonies. So for some of them supporting Israel is likely an extension of supporting a colonial project in their home country. Look at Brazil where indigenous communities are still under threat.

Possibly hasbara bots

I believe flotilla news are highly astroturfed. We know the entity has an entire department for it and hasbara is government policy, it goes all the way up from the information ministry down to influencers and local community leaders eg synagogues, lobbies etc.

Open any news about the flotilla on twitter, any tweet whatsoever, and they're flooded with hasbara bots. Nothing else comes close so how do they even find the small posts.

Likely over-representation by Catholic fascists who see their (Honorary) Aryan status represented by US Imperialism.

(Or bots but the latter often still represents actual capital and their human propagators)

Not sure about other countries in Latin America, but in Brazil the already popular and growing evangelical churches love to praise Israel as the chosen people of God, associating the current state as a continuation of the old testament's kingdom.

It seems the same, everywhere. I've taken to reminding them why there is no biblical state of Israel, and why there's a diaspora, in biblical terms.

There are Western lovers even within nominal socialist countries such as China and Vietnam. Their existence in the rest of the Global South is no surprise.

Whaaaaat? Just recently, there was a public manifestation in my city in defense of Palestine denouncing Israel. I don't even live in a very big city. I found more reports on other manifestations in Mexico City. And this is all recent.

I don't know about the situation on other places, but this really is news to me. I'd like to think these are internet trolls or the same kind of teenagers who foolishly drew swastikas in secondary school because they thought it was cool or something.

Here are some of the articles I could find, they're in spanish:
