I'm quite certain these are completely separate times and places, how the hell has someone tried this more than once?

My house was on fire and i can into the kitchen, past the extinguisher, grabbed a pot, ran past the extinguisher again... and realized it was ridiculous so i just went outside.

People do funny things during a crisis.

I mean, we're all taught for the whole life that the fire extinguishers and fire alarms are absolutely off limits. I'm pretty sure that during a fire I would still hesitate to break the glass and press the fire alarm button.

Carry one around with you all day, people will respect you for being prepared and you always know you're allowed to use it if there's a need.

I felt this way until i was the one who purchased the fire extinguisher. Something was different knowing i was responsible for it, and i dont think id hesitate (i say now at 6 am while everyone else is asleep and i can think)

I believe the person in the pic OP posted is actually throwing water at the wall, in an attempt to keep the fire away from their apartment.

Probably not very useful, but maybe not 100% stupid, I don't know honestly.

I wish my anxiety issues were just part of my thinking so I could simply meditate and stop this random feeling of impending doom I've felt all day FOR NO REASON. Can't just take my mind off things to fix actual chemistry problems. 😮‍💨

Anxiety is a rational response to what's going on in the world, coupled with the intention to try to live much longer.

[–] BombOmOm@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Easiest way to deal with news-induced anxiety is to just turn off the news & social media for a few weeks. Does wonders.

Buy renters insurance people.

[–] darkdemize@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago

Owning people is frowned upon these days, even if they are insurance salespeople.

why does everybody and his mom today has to slap a watermark on there memes, this hinders the evolution of memes and reeks of narcissism

[–] BombOmOm@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Doom scrolling makes all those bad things significantly worse.

If it's me, that's a chamberpot. There's no running water within armslength.

[–] darkdemize@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

Are you posting this from Victorian England?

[–] khannie@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

But there's a chamberpot within armslength?

Intrigue!

[–] miss_demeanour@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's in the bed with me so I'm less motivated to move.

[–] khannie@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

I'm gonna need one in the bed with me because I'm pissin' myself laughing here hahaha.
