So do we think that the "we can vote our way out of fascism" crowd will finally realize their mistake when the opposition party is banned, or are we just gonna have to start individually martyring ourselves?

[–] AlecSadler@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

We could shoot our way out

[–] djsoren19@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 4 days ago

Martyrdom it is then!

[–] TacoButtPlug@sh.itjust.works 0 points 3 days ago

Is it really an opposition party?

I'm sure this giant red flag will finally wake up the vast majority of voters across the U.S. right?

Any day now…

I'd be shocked if it could even awaken Democratic law makers whose jib it is to fight these things

"Oh I see it now, you guys were totally right! So what do we do now?"

[–] CrayonDevourer@lemmy.world 19 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Hey, but remember! We can't vote for Kamala because we gotta be able to hold politicians feet to the fire! Because you know...Gaza or some shit...

[–] supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

What is this adding to the conversation?

[–] CrayonDevourer@lemmy.world -2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It's pointing out the childishness of these people, so that hopefully others in the future don't fall for their thinly veiled propaganda. Bullying does have its uses.

[–] supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Bullying only works when you are the popular kid, people aren't moving to the shrinking island of cynical neoliberalism, the age old practice of shaming people into voting for democrats just doesn't work rhetorically anymore.

Look at the popularity of the democratic party, it is at a historical low. Y'all are losers, and you are almost as bad losers as Republicans are.

The only one worse than us losers over here are the people who did their damnedest to convince people not to vote; because hey -- they won't get to any longer now. Congrats on that by the way. You still have your...what...moral integrity I guess? I'm not even sure you have that.

I voted for Kamala, so did all the leftists I know.

I also voiced immense concern that not showing any willingness to budge on the issue by Biden, Kamala and other democratic leaders would risk losing the election and it appears that it did to an extent.

Don't condescend other voters by suggesting they needed leftists to point out their country was directly enabling a genocide. It is the same thing as blaming the deckhand for warning about an iceberg ahead to the captain when the captain blatantly ignored the warning and kept steaming ahead at full speed.

Trump has already announced his final solution for the Gaza Strip.

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 12 points 4 days ago

And it’ll stop there. He definitely won’t throw “disloyal” republicans under the bus after that.

[–] Aermis@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Do it! Imagine running against only an independent without a democratic vote split. Blue voters haven't wanted DNC candidates since 2016.
