Weird status effect preventing healing (discuss.tchncs.de)

After I beat the beastfly and got the reward I notices these three spikes besides my needle and mask display. When I try to heal the display gets these red streaks and I do not heal a single mask. Does anyone know, what this means and how I can solve it?

Binding multiple times or sitting at a bench does not help. Thinking of the high difficulty level I don't really want to procees without being able to heal.

When you beat the beastfly you get a new crest. You can change your crest at a bench.

Crests change your moveset, available slots for charms, and the Beast crest makes your healing function differently (you bind then can attack stuff to heal)

Ahhhh, now I have understood how crests actually work XD thanks for the help. When I bind with the Beaat crest and hit an enemy, I emediately heal one mask for each hit (I think). Different but powerful.

Yeah, and I think when you're in that bind mode it hits harder. It's not my favorite crest but it's cool there's so many different play styles with them all
