August 27th, 2025: AA Day 27

  • Brush: Proraso - Professional Boar
  • Razor: Weck - Sextoblade Med Prep
  • Blade: Fromm Hair Shaper
  • Lather: Mike's Natural Soaps - Vetiver - Soap
  • Post Shave: Catie's Bubbles - 322 - Aftershave

Got a really good lather today, although I had to load it like it owed me money. Feeling good about finishing AA strong.

August 27th, 2025: MMOCMQ Day 27

  • Brush: Rad Dinosaur Creations "Stardust" - TurnNShave 26mm Shoat
  • Razor: GEM Micromatic Open Comb
  • Blade: Accuforge GEM Microcoat (25)
  • Lather: Mike's Natural Soaps - Orange, Cedarwood, & Black Pepper - Soap
  • Post Shave: Barrister and Mann - Reserve Spice - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Stirling - Glacial Unscented - Balm
  • Fragrance: Stirling - Destination Unknown - EdT

OCBP and Reserve Spice pair nicely together, and Destination Unknown is a great scent to top it off. Close, comfortable three-pass shave.

August 27th, 2025

  • Brush: Zenith - 508A XL/Bristle (B35) (MOAR BOAR) 31mm Boar
  • Razor: Joseph Rogers & Sons Near Wedge (7)
  • Lather: House of Mammoth - Mood Indigo - Soap
  • Post Shave: Brut - Brut - Splash On
  • Fragrance: Noble Otter - Hamami - EdP

Very nice! I didn't strop, but I do wonder if stropping would have improved the feel. The end result is really good, but I think overall it could have been better. I think this razor is made of relatively "soft" steel, so in theory I'd think stropping would help. Maybe I'll try it again tomorrow.

I agree. The softer steels are more easily bent (deformed) by the action of stropping. My AA trick for no stropping is to use very hard steels 😁

Last year was a stainless steel razor, right?

Yes, that’s right.

A somewhat belated Zingari Zischtig. Always a pleasure.

Have a good night!
