Without exagertion this is the closest to a fantasy I have ever experienced. As soon as you cross the threshold your nose is assaulted with the most charming old book smell known to man.

Was in love instantly.

it wouldn't let me upload anything other than screenshots so apologies for the quality.

This genuinely makes me anxious. Cannot identify the majority of the books at a glance plus there's so much potential for tumbling down here, goodness forbid I want a book in one of the stacks. I need to look away!

The dessicated forms of past knowledge-seekers had turned into mortar, holding up the precarious walls of ancient books.

"Join us," they whispered.

"Eww," I replied. "Gross."

I had my photographs.

My dream home office

I have been in a book shop like that in Hastings (UK). Two stacks of books before the shelves, and it was worse in the basement, according to the owner. He was a living computer. You tell him you want something about topic and he got three books out of the basement, and tells you it's all he has.

Over the course of a few days, we bought several folding boxes of books there.

I feel like if I turned around in that place I would knock over several mountains of paper.
