Test driving the release candidate for v0.2.0 of #ArtemisApp. It’s the first version that’s gonna be publicly available. Within the week 🚀 /kbin API is still due for release. But you’ll be able to use the https://artemis.camp instance, that has a fork of the official API. Support for other instances will roll out as soon as the API ships. And #Lemmy support is coming in a week or two :) #Threadiverse #kbin #kbinapp #ios #android

Crazy how fast this has developed. Can't wait to chuck some funds when it goes public, and some when API comes out.

Does this mean I kind of need to make an account at Artemis.camp to best test the app until the api rolls out to kbin.social? I’m on the private beta.

Yes, right now Artemis.camp is the only kbin instance which has activated the API which they've been developing. It is probably going to be the same as the APi which is exposed elsewhere eventually (perhaps save a few final bug fixes and tinkering around the edges), but until kbin.social etc merge the API update, the app can't work with other instances.

All of that said 1. Artemis.camp is federated so you can see all the same content from there and 2. hopefully the API will be enabled on kbin.social in the next few weeks.

Slight asside, there are other features being tested on smaller instances out there, for example https://kglitch.social/ has nice a implementation of collapsible comment trees. Again this is something which will probably find it's way into the core kbin code before too long.

Today was the day Reddit killed RIF for me. I was surprised it lasted as long as it did. But now I am really happy that @hariette is developing this app! I am really looking forward to testing it out!
