OP, Rule 3, please. And then feel free to provide any context you think is needed in the body.

Edit: Appreciated, OP, and espscially appreciated for adding some variety with non-US news. ❤️

what do black conservatives think that the vast, vast majority of white conservatives actually want to conserve? because it isn't fucking equality

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 32 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Every conservative thinks that they are the exception, that they are foot that wears the boot.

White, black, Latino....they all think that they are special. That they'll be spared.

But they are all bigoted.

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

i guess if you're gullible enough to think that all you have to do is "work hard" to become a billionaire, then you have the capacity to think you're a special snowflake too

[–] raltoid@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Just to clarify: The vast majority of people who talk about the whole "work hard and you'll become rich" thing, are knowingly lying. They don't actually believe that, they're just narcissists who say it because they want everyone else to do all the work. So they lie and make up things like it making you rich, or it being part of the bible or even human nature to "have" to work.

Unless you're an ultra wealthy white man, the party hates you.

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 1 week ago

Money covers a lot of sins. They'll happily take advantage of your wealth so long as you're willing to give it to them.

See: Kanye

Edit: Ignore me because I'm a dummy, but I'll leave my incorrectly US-centric comment up as a learning moment:

They just want to protect their right to property against the Yankee socialists who say you can't own people.

[–] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Are there many Yankee socialists in Britain?

[–] Stovetop@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

You know, major brain fart on my part. I know the post is about UK politics and I skimmed through other comments talking about UK politics, but for some reason I read that comment and thought "This applies to the US."

Sorry, it's been one of those long days and it's not even over yet.

There are quite a lot of conservatives around the world who are ok with enslavement.

Clarence Thomas apparently said that white liberals were just as racist to him, they just did it in a more sly way. So he joined the side that made him the most money.

I can't totally say he's wrong.

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 9 points 1 week ago

i've experienced racism too, but that didn't motivate me to sign up with the "lets do a fascism" cult

i will 1000% say he's wrong

fuck that rapey sack of shit

Conservatives Against Racism for Equality

[–] chrisbtoo@lemmy.ca 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Bear in mind that these are British Conservatives, who are aligned more toward the US Democratic Party than what an American would consider "conservative". They also have a black leader.

[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

So what? India's current prime minister is from so called lower caste (community working in trade of oil pressing) and he's got no problems aligning with a brahmin supremacist organisation.

In a Black History Month debate in the House of Commons in October 2020, she reiterated the government's opposition to primary and secondary schools teaching white privilege and similar "elements of critical race theory" as uncontested facts.[171] ConservativeHome readers voted Badenoch's speech on critical race theory 2020 "speech of the year", in which she said that any school that teaches "elements of political race theory as fact, or which promotes partisan political views such as defunding the police without offering a balanced treatment of opposing views, is breaking the law."

She also doesn't care about colonialism as well.

She's got 'fuck you, got mine' mentality just like all other conservatives.

Now go look up how she even got British citizenship in the first place, and what she says about asylum seekers and immigrants. Hypocrite of the lowest order.

It comes after Amankona, co-founder of Conservatives Against Racism for Equality, [...]

You can't make this shit up.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

And then they came for Uncle Tom, and there was no one left to speak for him.

[–] acockworkorange@mander.xyz -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I will say the dude joined about the same time the broadcaster was created, so it is reasonable to accept that he didn't know where he was getting into.

[–] davidagain@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Nah, we all knew very early on that gb news was meant to be the fox news of the UK.

If you're joining an organisation that took Andrew Neill off the screen in its first week of broadcasting for being too left wing, and replaced him with Nigel Farage, you have to have had your head firmly in the sand if you don't realise they're right wing nut jobs.

He's also a regular at the Conservative cool aid fountain, founder OF LGBT Conservatives
