Trailer park boys, hilarious yet wholesome.

Tokyo Diner. It always makes feel calmer.

[–] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I don't know that one what's it about?

[–] gid@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

It's about a diner in Tokyo that's open from midnight until 7 in the morning, and the deal is the diner's owner will make anything a customer requests, as long as he has the ingredients. There are a few recurring characters but generally each episode is about a new diner coming in and requesting a certain dish, and you find out why that meal is special to them and learn a little about their background.

It's very wholesome and visually satsifying (especially if you like watching food being made).

  • Black Books
  • 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown
  • Brooklyn Nine-Nine

I like HIMYM, Frasier, The Great North and Abbot Elementary. They're quiet shows where good things happen.

[–] Jake_Farm@sopuli.xyz 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Same for me on Fraiser. The new Ghosts series is pretty fun. Oh and The Vicar of Dibley.

[–] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I really like Ghosts too! Vicar of Dibley is the ultimate feel good safe tv

Both versions of All Creatures Great and Small are pretty good.

Whose Line Is It Anyway?

They make me laugh even when I'm sad.

The Red Green Show. It's just folksy enough to be relaxing, and it's nice that Red reminds you every episode that we're all in this together.

Not quite a show but the Marketplace podcast (marketplace.org or perhaps this PRI show is carried on your local NPR station) -- for some reason Kai Ryssdal's voice just makes it all better

The super fan edit of the US version of The Office usually. I have a separate library in Plex just for this so I can put it on shuffle and let it run.

On the rare occasion I get bored with it, or to give my wife a break which is needed more often, I’ll mix in Parks and Rec, Brooklyn 99, or Modern Family.

Futurama if I want to watch something. I fall asleep to shows and movies and if that's the goal it's a MST3K/Rifftrax treatment of Time Chasers.
