What do u use? Ovh? Hetzner? I think those are only European companies with us servers.
Not like it's gonna stop much, they obliged to follow us law anyways inside the jurisdiction

Netcup. And yeah, I know.
I want my server somewhat near me. If I could find a decently priced Canadian provider it would be nice, but I may eventually end up just getting a European server...
I'm waiting on maybe a deal for an OVH VPS in Canada. I'd pull the trigger on one now but I want 500GB of NVME and they only offer 300GB in the price tier I want. The server is getting close to 300GB as-is.
I'm really confused what's going on. I'm able to see this post, but I can't access my account and can't access the site via web or the Connect app. Tried a different browser and I just get an error message.
Hmmm I just logged out and back in. It's possible it was down for some reason briefly. I'll look into it but you should be able to get in
Edit: the status monitor (https://status.thelemmy.club/) doesn't show anything today. Interesting.
On my logged in browser I get a weird version of the site.

If I try the homepage on a different browser (DDG, no login):

If I try the status page I get:
Web page not available The web page at https://status.thelemmy.club/ could not be loaded because:
net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET
I haven't been able to access my account for several days now. Are other users able to get in?
It appears whatever network you are using is blocking the site. I'm guessing it's a school/work network? The logged on browser looks like it has some of the site saved from before but can't access any updated data. Try using cellular data.
If this is your home network you need to contact your ISP. But looking up "platformx communications" I strongly suspect you're on some kind of organization's network.
They often don't like uncommonly visited sites, odd TLDs (.club) etc.
No I'm just on my regular home WiFi. I only get that message on DDG. On Opera, where I'm logged in, I just get that weird version. I never had a problem with the domain before the upgrade. It works if I activate Opera's VPN. Well that sucks. Guess I'll just have to use web interface 😞
Well then your Internet provider is blocking it, or someone on your network has setup some kind of filter.
What happens if you click "visit anyway"?
You could probably also change your DNS provider. You'd have to look up how to do that for your router.
Not to worry, I figured out how to change my DNS to Cloudflare and it seems to be okay now.
Yay I'm back!
