Oakland is making a lot of big cuts because of lost revenue. Most notably, transfer taxes cash stops flowing when the housing market cools down.

They were eyeing cutting fire stations to make ends meet. But given the 91 fire in the lower hills, and the recent LA fires, a lot of oaklanders pushed back super hard.
