Eternity, hands down the best,

open source = no ads or tracking

very cutomisable, smooth navigation, no major bugs. + supports older phones

[-] xigoi@lemmy.sdf.org 7 points 1 year ago

For me it's very buggy, although I still like it the most.

Boost just launched today. Loved it for Reddit

[-] seaQueue@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Boost gang!

Personally I use sync. I know it's a touchy subject but it works flawlessly for me. I did buy the $20 no ads option so ads don't affect me at all.

[-] kratoz29@lemm.ee 9 points 1 year ago

You don't need to throw disclaimers, all FOSS bros need to understand that we can use whatever the heck we want, so they can.

[-] oni@lemmy.ml 13 points 1 year ago

Anyone can use whatever they want, ofc. But this is the opensource sub, lol

[-] pgp@sh.itjust.works 28 points 1 year ago

I used infinity for reddit, so naturally I switched to eternity.

[-] dot20@lemmy.world 19 points 1 year ago

Jerboa, because it just works and doesn’t overcomplicate things.

There was a poll a week ago and it reached over 6000 votes. That won't answer Why, but you get a general idea which clients people use.

[-] Encode1307@lemm.ee 9 points 1 year ago

That was before boost was released. I bet it'll look different now.

How liftoff is so far down on that list baffles me

Eternity, free and open source, but also because I'm used to Infinity when it was still cool.

[-] Lemmchen@feddit.de 14 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I came from rif is fun and so I'm using Jerboa now. I don't need a fancy UI, I need minimalism.

[-] Pantherina@feddit.de 14 points 1 year ago

Jerboah actually. Its the most complete, stable and looks very good. Used Thunder but it lacks features and is kinda buggy. I was hyped about Infinity, but I only really needed Infinity to have private subscriptions and multi accounts, which I dont have on Lemmy.

[-] sr2751@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

Jerboa doesn't have proper search functionality.

Sync by a country mile

I use Connect and I've liked it. being able to block communities I don't want in my feed is easy and I get the impression that other apps don't have this feature. I can also block posts by keywords which is also nice not having to see post after post about Elon or furries

Using Connect, it was the second app I tried during the time there were a lot of connection issues with Jerboa (the errors weren't their fault, but they weren't handled as gracefully as I would've liked at the time). No complaints really, so I've stuck with it.

[-] archchan@lemmy.ml 11 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Jeroba because it's dev made and it was like the only one when I got on Lemmy. And it's actually good. Recently started using Eternity as well because I was using Infinity as my main client for reddit.

[-] eleefece@kbin.social 11 points 1 year ago

Boost - Mainly because is what I used on reddit

Boost for Lemmy just released, works great so far!

Perhaps biased because I'm so used to Boost for Reddit

Eternity. I was using infinity for years for reddead and having an in-situ replacement is nice.

[-] darcy@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 year ago

ive tried a bunch and jerboa is the only one with the features i like. eternity is nice too

[-] ElPussyKangaroo 8 points 1 year ago

Eternity. Although there are issues with replies and the inbox.

Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with Thunder for replying to comments, and Eternity for literally everything else.

Sync is so good, but I did really enjoy jerboa when I first joined lemmy. Liftoff was also really good, but in the end sync is so customizable I was able to make it feel almost exactly like my relay for reddit setup, with swipe and tons of content on my screen

[-] Squirrel@thelemmy.club 8 points 1 year ago
[-] nobloat@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 year ago

Eternity which is a fork of Infinity for Reddit. I've been using Infinity for ages so I really love Eternity

[-] merthyr1831@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Considering this is the FOSS sub maybe the people suggesting Boost and Sync might want to suggest something else.. It's like people suggesting dairy cheddar for someone asking for a good lactose free cheese 🥲

But yeah, Jerboa is a popular client and one of the OGs as far as I know.

I personally enjoy Jerboa which is AGPL-3 and has a very sleek interface while being cross platform. Also felt a lot more complete than Jerboa did back when I tried it in July but im sure both are more similar nowadays

[-] kratoz29@lemm.ee 6 points 1 year ago

Sync, Summit, and Voyager, in that order for me.

I need to check out on Boost, but as I have already maaany Lemmy clients I'll give it some time to catch up.

[-] priapus@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I really like Liftoff. It looks the nicest imo and is very smooth and simple to use. I also plan to give Eternity a shot since I used Infinity in the past.

I'm using Eternity but every single client I've tested lack mod tools so most of them are a no no for me.

[-] Alami@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I only searched for apps in F-droid and my favourite is Voyager. Just love the full black interface with blue highlights and the swipe actions. I tried liftoff and thunder, but came back to voyager.

[-] frippa@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 year ago

Jerboa, was the only maintained one when I joined and I'm used to it now

[-] FQQD@feddit.de 5 points 1 year ago

Jerboa, it's kind of ugly but, yk, never change a running system. Just works.

You have to use three applications at once due to the fact that in one application the search is better organized, but not very convenient design. The second app has faster ribbon scrolling and a user-friendly design, but it doesn't work well clearing the cache.

Most often I use the Jerboa app. The Jerboa application, despite the shortcomings, is the simplest and most understandable.

I've used a bunch but I like thunder the most. Jerboa is nice and emojis work best on it, but I like the general look and feel of thunder the most. Eternity is nice but its too buggy for me in its current state.

[-] Alicecisnt@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 year ago

Boost for Lemmy

[-] _haha_oh_wow_@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I like Connect, but Jeroba and Liftoff are pretty decent too. Thunder is pretty good too.
