I am pretty sure Ooya-san will give them a good deal on the rent as long as they keep giving her good romcom moments. So, it shouldn't be too difficult to work enough to support themselves.

We need an ending where their kid is just as much of an annoying shit as Akutsu-san was. I can only imagine how bothersome their kid(s) would be.
We all know they'll have a daughter to keep the tradition going.
Of course. Or they have a daughter and son just so the son can give the daughter hell. That'd be an adorable shitshow, and potentially a spinoff or sequel manga, dare I ask?
The brother going and making sure she doesn't end like their mom/grandma, but is captured at the end by someone similar? I can see that, lol.

I'm starting to wonder whether the Editor kicked the Author in the butt to finally get the plot going, not that I'm complaining about it. I'd normally agree with @wjs018@ani.social's assessment that they'll get cheap rent from Ooya-san but I suspect she'll die from high blood sugar levels when she hears about this (I know I almost did)
I hope so. I really don't mind the progress to be shown as after the fact, but I really like these two bumbling idiots, and honestly feel their shenanigans can still go on for a very long time without milking the cow dry.
