Chat is a text only community for casual conversation, please keep shitposting to the absolute minimum. This is intended to be a separate space from c/chapotraphouse or the daily megathread. Chat does this by being a long-form community where topics will remain from day to day unlike the megathread, and it is distinct from c/chapotraphouse in that we ask you to engage in this community in a genuine way. Please keep shitposting, bits, and irony to a minimum.

As with all communities posts need to abide by the code of conduct, additionally moderators will remove any posts or comments deemed to be inappropriate.

I read a lot more than anything else. A lot of History, especially about explorers.

I'm exploring and inspecting the cultural output of the American entertainment and consumerism complex

Before such myths were mangled and consolidated into a wider sense of "Britishness" the English would routinely hold mock executions of King Arthur as a way to stick it to the Welsh.

Then as is now, these murders in effigy are meaningless. Ulysses will return from posting Avalon when we need him most and free us from the bazingas and the treatbrains.

on a more serious noteWhat's with the sudden uptick in posting about Ulysses? Is there a struggle session I missed?
