I think the good thing is you can disable some of the features whereas apps like WhatsApp force it for all. Or you can use something more customizable like Plus Messenger.

I rather use Signal. The worst feature they have is Stories and you can turn that off.

But then I see Telegram Premium? What is that? Making money?

It's just interesting, they will eventually be for profit in my opinion
