There should be a “shower thoughts mode” in the shower so after you clean yourself, the current water used in the shower is recycled and reheated. In this way you can keep shower thinking without wasting water cc @showerthoughts@lemmy.world

I'm going to guess in most parts of the world heating water is a bigger expense vs getting clean water.

You could choose to feel guilty about wasting heat energy, or just enjoy it knowing the energy had already been spent heating the water for you to enjoy. But screw fresh water! Waste away! It'll stay in the water cycle

I'm not sure about that. Even wealthy countries can have water problems in times of drought. I grew up during the Millennium Drought in Australia, we had major water restrictions and major campaigns to try to get people to do things like take shorter showers. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000s_Australian_drought

And that's in a wealthy nation with well-developed infrastructure. Countless places around the world have neither of those, and I'm sure lots of people in those places would love the luxury of a long shower without wasting water.

If you have some form of a tankless water heater, you still win on heat recovery too...

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The best ones are thoughts that many people can relate to and they find something funny or interesting in regular stuff.
