Sorry, I seem already old, what does this mean, a background?

I guess some adaptations (more than with windows/Mac) one can apply to any Linux desktop.

I recommend a look at !unicorn@lemmy.ml to see what ricing can do.

Basically, ricing means adjusting the optics of your desktop beyond a wallpaper.
