There's a whole ass-website that explains why:

If Alibaba is not there as part of a governmental bid to destabilise the US, I don't even understand what do they do it for

[–] thingsiplay@lemmy.ml -1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I would spread this website too, if it was written more seriously and without cheeky style. There are real issues brought up on this page, it's just looks like propaganda that I cannot take it seriously and cannot recommend others to read.

I didn't get that impression. Can you provide an example?

[–] thingsiplay@lemmy.ml -2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Example of what? I'm talking about the entire webpage, not a specific phrase. I'm talking about the style how it is presented (look and how the words are used). It's not a specific example to give, the entire site is not something I would link to.

You're going to have to give examples, because it reads as a very straightforward statement of facts to me.

To be fair, this one tells the reader how you should feel:

No other Linux or FOSS project ever gets this kind of funding. You should be suspicious of it, not celebrate it. You have been tricked into playing defense for millionaires that don't give a shit about you.

Could have stopped after the first sentence.

Example of what? I am talking about the website as a whole, not a specific part.

[–] Simon_Shitewood@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Of it being "cheeky" and "looks like propaganda", you know, the only things you've actually said. It looks like a no nonsense list of factual statements to me, what's so cheeky about that? What about the facts or style of website makes them cheeky? There must be some specific element or combination of elements that make you think that.

[–] thingsiplay@lemmy.ml -4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Can't you read? It looks like propaganda and I don't like the look of it. I cannot recommend this site because of it, because it doesn't look like something I can take seriously. I am not talking about the facts.

[–] Simon_Shitewood@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

So what about it looks like propaganda? Why can't you take it seriously? The font? The colours? The paragraph structure? All you've said is you don't like it without even saying what you don't like. If it's not the words what is it?

[–] sukhmel@programming.dev 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It shows things you're supposed to not like in red, and things you're supposed to like in green. What if I want to be skeptical and enjoy a succulent read of a far-right manifesto? /s

If you don't like red and green you can read this:
