This has been my daily driver since 2021. I spent the latter half of the 2010s with the BSDs and when I got this device I was sad to learn that NetBSD didn't support the wifi driver... so I moved to Artix.

Thanks! It's an xconsole(1) that prints /dev/console. I configured xdm to draw it at the top of the screen when it xdm starts up. Its always on top when I first login and other windows can be drawn over it. I do auto group it with cwm tho, so if I am doing something and need to see it... I do a cwm hotkey combo which brings it back to the top.
