They start early, in schools and popular media (Hitler wasn't even half as bad as Leopold of Belgium, or Cortez and Colombus, but we will hear his name for as long as it makes European non Jews feel bad for European Jews, I guess, since who cares about non white victims, right?), so at some point "support for Israel/European Jews" is somehow just standard and even moral in their very ignorant understanding of the world.
