If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. But this assumes that the higher fuel prices are the main driver for the switch and I personally don't think this is the case.

I mean, that's the thrust of the whole article. Not just price, but stability and energy independence for govts.

The article says that high-gas prices is what pushed the sales below 50% - not that high fuel prices are the main driver of EV adoption.
