I've done something similar. Only once though. Sleep was like a straight up on/off switch with an instant jump in continuity awareness.

Since I'd be in a world where a sleep switch exists I'd expect a built in alarm system would exist with it as well.

I pretty much have. When I decide it's time to sleep, I just do. I just roll over on the "fall asleep" side, and then I'm gone.

It happened to me semi-regularly in childhood, and it's even happened a couple times as an adult. I swear to god this is how we're all supposed to be sleeping but we're all kept awake by subsonic electronic whines or something
