"As revolutionaries, we don't have the right to say that we're tired of explaining. We must never stop explaining. We also know that when the people understand, they cannot but follow us. In any case, we, the people, have no enemies when it comes to peoples. Our only enemies are the imperialist regimes and organizations." Thomas Sankara, 1985

That gets pretty well ignored. In australia the British colonisers said the land was legally uninhabited and used that as a way to wipe out a lot of indigenous peoples and nations. We went from over 700 nations to now under 250 and frankly im suprised that many survived but i guess a lot are like Tasmania where there is nobody left as a full blooded indigenous, some have some indigenous blood but overall they were effectively wiped out and their languages an cultures erased with only a small token few left to try and pretend we weren't genocidal.

Meanwhile china legislates protections for indigenous minorities and the west portrays them as oppressing minorities.

Find me a school in xinjiang and I bet it teaches uygur language, find me one in australia and I'll bet it doesn't teach any indigenous language at all.
