Overview:
Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

I was interested until I hit that photo of the cockpit, my god what a horrible design.
Yeah, why does it have a steering squircle? I should be driving my car exclusively by swiping on a touch screen.
yeah, I just commented elsewhere that I can't afford an EV.
however, I would also not buy one because of shit like this. deal breakers for me include:
spyware
blinding LED headlights
lack of physical controls
excessive touchscreens
driver distraction features
I'll keep my carbon footprint as low as I can, but I'm not going to buy a vehicle that I can't afford that spies on me and is more dangerous than something from 2012
Why does every thread about EVs include comments like this? You are describing the horrible reality of ALL new vehicles as if it's EV-specific.
I would venture to say that it's because they've implemented all of this prior to the forced regulation.
spyware There are plenty of articles that explain this.
blinding LED headlights There is no realistic regulation on this matter on any car currently.
lack of physical controls This is a massive issue in more ways than one.
excessive touchscreens If it's a ticket able offense to use a phone while driving, why are touchscreens allowed?
driver distraction "features" A useless function that basically puts in a camera alongside the microphone in the car.
Some car manufacturers are changing back to more traditional things. But most of this will stay.
Also the kill switches. You know it's bad when regardless of what political spectrum you're on, that it's bringing people together to hate these features.
I don't think most people are say against EV's; personally I want to convert my old vehicles to EV's instead of buying a new one. That being said, that's expensive as well. Peoples wallets are thin and it becomes a moot point to try to convince someone to buy a new car. Let alone the behind the scenes reason on why they're becoming cheaper; because you get a subsidized vehicle to have data harvested and train whatever tech they're trying to push out. It would be one thing to be able to rip out whatever wireless and Bluetooth modules there are as well as remove what stores data that can be accessed when you get maintenance.
Yeah, true. What forced regulation are you referring to?
Basically the vehicle kill switches and the monitoring of the driver part. Sounds like a great on paper but you can imagine that it will be used against you. The "advanced drunk and impaired driving prevention technology" is a disaster waiting to happen, and I'm talking about on a massive scale. You have to use your imagination, it's kind of like rule 34. If the pentagon got hacked, do you really trust in a car not to be hacked?
because if I were going to buy new, I'd choose an EV
but yeah, it's fucked that it's pretty much all vehicles
The spyware is also something that I won't do, never want to own a car with an internet connection.
ok, so you use a rotary dial phone as well? You are sending more frequent, detailed data from your phone.
That's absurd logic, just because there's a thing in my life with some telemetry left over despite doing what I can to disable the rest, doesn't mean I should just say 'screw it' and buy every product that monitors me 24/7.
From Graphene?
what percentage of phone users use graphene?
What is your argument supposed to be here? It sounds like you're throwing out 'gotchas' to try and prove that cars monitoring everything about us isn't bad.
US consumers fucking love big screen TVs in their cars.
This US consumer doesn't, which is why I've been considering replacing my 2014 car with something even older
