I thought the whole point of the new flag was to troll and divide people. Didn't it start on 4chan?

Its intent is to visually include more subgroups, but the original design being a rainbow was specifically chosen for the fact that a rainbow contains all colors; representing all people. So there really isn't any particular need to update the flag, IMO. It already is intended to include everyone.
