It was 14 years between those games. It's a good mechanic that deserved to be dusted off. There were a bunch of other Spiderman games between them that didn't do it. The Insomniac Spiderman had better everything else too, people really forget what that old Spider-Man 2 game was like outside of the swinging mechanics.
