Situation with TVs way worse. Most non-chinese phones do not spy on you 24/7. Yes, some (if not all) major apps logs everything you do, but it not nearly close to what GN discovered with LG TVs: they literally record your screen and logs everything you say.
Also, on android you often have options to opt out or change software and sometimes even switch to different OS. Best option that I found for my LG C2 โ is to just turn internet off.
