Overview:

Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

5 or 6 years. But I don't typically buy cars new either. I prioritize reliability and safety as much as strict dollars and cents.

Depreciation doesn't matter when you drive a car into the ground.

That's not quite true. Even if you "drive it into the ground" (which I don't like to do), there's still the amount-paid / years-you-drive-it equation that holds.

If you want to prioritize safety, you'd basically need to drive an EV at this point. The low CG of the battery pack and its added structure do provide significant benefits when it comes to roll over resistance and side impact safety.
