L’Oreal and Nestle used to be American companies, with L’Oreal being a common and affordable skin moisturizing cream from the 1990s, while Nestle KitKat being a favorite American candy, so when did L’Oreal become a French cosmetics company, and KitKat being a Swiss candybar? Thank you for your attention and interest.

Just because people's memories change about what companies belong where, doesn't mean Nestle KitKat and L'Oreal were not American companies, and are deeply associated with American culture.

That's like saying Jim Carry and Ryan Gosling aren't canadian because they're popular in the US.

Nestle, Kitkat, and L'Oreal are european brands popular in the United States. No one's memory has changed or been altered.

Nestle, Kitkat, and L’Oreal are American brands, and are deeply associated with American culture, not British culture, not French culture, and not Swiss culture.

It's like, just because the history books tell you that French sailors in wooden ships conquered the country of Mexico during the American Civil War, doesn't mean it actually happened.
