Not sure who the mad lad is that downvoted your common sense statement, but hopefully they get a better education.
You are right. We are not meant to consume the way we do. It isn't sustainable. As an American I can confirm this culture promotes getting rid of things the moment they break without trying to repair them or even just when they feel old.
It sickens me. I use things until they break and then I open them up and see if I can fix them, and you'd be surprised how often you can.
