Enough Musk Spam
For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.
No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.
Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.
Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.
Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

Maybe you don't know this. But it's polite to ask people about themselves and be interested in what they say.
I once let a guy talk to me about dr. Who for over an hour. Ive never watched it. Not a fan of it. Don't know much about it. Well. I didn't until this guy. But he really did and wanted to tell me about some cool stuff from it. So we chatted about it and I learned a lot. I was interested in what he had to say about it even though I'm not a fan and don't watch it.
Wasn't trying to hook up with him. I'm asexual.
But I like learning about things. And I especially like learning about things that other people are invested and excited about. It makes for fun conversations.
No, I it was pretty obvious that it wasn't their thing. They were just clinging to anything stated a moment ago to avoid being silent. Doesn't just apply to gamers, either, I've had women claim to really any number of things they didn't have much to say about after the fact.
I'm sure it applies to dudes equally, but I've only been hit on by a few men.
Idk man, someone putting in effort to engage with you about topics you like seems like a good thing. Not something to be irritated about.
If you purposely pick a topic you know they likely won't have much to say about, and then get irritated when they try but don't have much to add.....idk. Isn't that kind of your fault ?
If you don't want to chat with strangers at a bar just don't engage or sit away from others. Most people do go out to drinking establishments to meet people and socialize.
So they will assume you are there for the same reason.
The above comment is likely just a joke.
Nope, all true, start to finish.
ok
I hope so
I would not even bet 1¢ on it being satire
All that to say that we should be talking about Dr who.
I'm sad to say that once Netflix lost the rights I found it a bit hard to follow. I was even willing to buy the episodes, but I could barely figure out what I needed to buy. Amazon somehow changed me like fifty bucks (they just split the season and charged full price for both) and I didn't even get the Christmas episode.
I'm still bummed. I had been really enjoying the reboot or whatever it was. I have a real soft spot for good stories with acceptable effects, especially if it's not just digital.
