Teaching kids to read is politics now.
Fun fact: currently reading a novel where it says that the Spanish antifascists taught their illiterate fighters to read because the Catholic priests never taught them so they couldn't read socialist literature and get ideas.
Exactly what happened to slaves in USA. Edited biblical passages, no reading except what they were told to know.lack of education keeps entire civilizations down where you can stomp them out and control them. It's sickening what we could do if we just all worked together and people weren't literally killing people for money.
