This is the Preview channel update. People that opted into it should anticipate issues.
No it isn't. I have a secondary Windows machine and I got that update without being on any insider channel.
Preview is not Insider. You have to manually select Preview channel updates.
Still, i'm on the main branch.

Check if the "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available" option is enabled. That's usually the issue.
