In the 50's and 60's, slot car racing arcades were popular, where people would go to race or watch others race. They still exist today of course, just not in the same popularity and prominence as then.

Sort of sad to see them go. I understand it's probably not easily viable in an age of advanced home video games, where you need to pay rent on an entire building and pay salaries and everything to run a slot car venue.
Still kinda sad.
The original owners died (they were anti-vaxxers and died of COVID, who'd a guessed?) and their son decided to shut the place down. Can't really blame him.
