Worms 3D was in... 3d.
I think, as the name suggests, this is a tactics kinda game instead of... mortar style gameplay of the first bunch of games.
Worms 3d was 3d art but the action was on a 2d plane. This looks like it's on a 3d plane. I could be wrong, just going off what I saw in the short trailer

Hmm... I must of missed that one and mistaken it for a different worms game. Still not what I think of as worms but maybe they figured out a good way to do it this time
There have been a few 2.5D Worms games that came after the entire "Worms 3D" series. The one I like introduced water physics and a bunch of water-based weaponry to play with it but I always forget the subtitle even tho I play it every now and then 😭
