Imo nobody outside of the US would even consider renaming the Gulf of Mexico. Maybe China, Russia and North-Korea if he continues to cozy up to them. Or Venezuela if he forces them to.
90% of people in the US also would never consider renaming it. I have reported it to Google multiple times. I know that won't change anything but it makes me feel better.
Even their work could be seen as half an attempt at best : Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)

This is what your country has done since day one.
It's probably the other way around and much lower than you think.
Of course you're being downvoted, but you're right. Another (small) example. California being just "California" (as if it were the one and only), when it should be "North California" or "Alta California" (while Mexico has the "South California" or "Baja California").
