Get the fuck outta here with that 25%. You get 20% for good service, and if you're lucky I'll round up to the nearest dollar if I'm paying cash.

15% for normal work; 20% for FANTASTIC service. 25% better come with free dessert and a car wash.

I start at 15%, and for everything notably good I go up 1%, and for every bad thing I go down 1%. I've been as high as like 27%, and as low as zero.

This way I'm always happy - I either get good service or I save money.

have tipped 30% before, when a server basically saved a friend's bday by accommodating a large, loud group of just-off-deployment-soldiers at a busy place.
