i used to think that worship of the rich like this was just an western brainworm thing; but watching the chinese do it too on rednote and weibo has been eye opening.
if it makes you feel better rednote has a reputation in china for being the place where all the rich annoying inner city people go to whinge about their lives

and w bizarre censorship -- somehow boobs are okay, but ukranians getting shot in the face point blank as they beg for mercy is a-okay.
Palace complexes reach back into pre-history all over the world.
People can always be cowed by hoarding and violence. Just ask Trump.
it's one thing if they're cowed by this behavior, but the billionaire worship is completely unforced and makes me pessimistic about humanity's future since it implies that'll we'll keep letting the epstein oligarcy keep doing what it's doing even if they're not forcing us.
