This was undone after a procession of Jews (and the Holy Roman Emperor) asked pope Martin V to undo it and they were really sorry about the mean things in the Talmud.

This also resulted in the talmud being legal again. As it, too, had been banned.

The more I learn about medieval history the weirder it gets. They had an entire event during which Jews had to justify the Talmud to Christians, and every time they tried the Catholic church agreed to a new ban on jews doing something. Unti the jews decide they're just not gonna try. They're just gonna sit in silence until the priests leave them alone.

There's some really weird stuff in history, like the cagots in France, a group everyone discriminated against, but nobody knows why https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cagot

The best part, to me, is that cagots as a group functionally no longer exist because they burned the list of cagots and no one knew how to figure out who was a cagot.

Always interesting to read about a group of people who you never heard of. That article is huge. Wtf is wrong with people.

If Europe doesn't have a minority to repress they'll invent one

Man that’s crazy, I notice it mentions speculation that they could be related to the Cathars, the religious branch in France that the Vatican launched a whole ass crusade against.
