In a video from 19 August, captioned “this might be the most controversial move ever by Disney”, a voiceover says that Disney has announced in an “official statement” the beloved mascot is “undergoing gender transition surgery to become Moxie Mouse”. It goes on to claim that the move is being made in the name of “inclusivity, diversity and understanding”, saying: “It will help reduce the stigma around transgenderism, especially with kids.”

That's especially creepy coming from the "sex chromosomes = sex = gender" people. They're worried about his gender when what they should be worried about is that a logical consequence of their supposedly genuine beliefs requires his costume to have male genitals that he uses for heterosexual intercourse. Perhaps if they're willing to abridge their standards for a corporate fantasy character they might extend that tolerance to actual human beings.
