Transitics has uncovered that Texas quietly rescinded its policy allowing trans prisoners to access gender-affirming care. Over 1,100 trans people are at risk of facing a forced detransition.

I wonder what if that would be enough to qualify for asylum in Canada or elsewhere for a trans person facing jail time in Texas.

I doubt it, there are trans people trying to get asylum from countries that outright kill them for being trans and still don’t get in.

The anti-asylum crowd has hurt a lot of people.

Unfortunately the US is being held off of a list of dangerous countries for trans people because we have a liberal government.

There are sponsorship slots available, but on the scale of hundreds per year.

However, citizenship was recently granted going backmultiple generations. If you can prove that you had an ancestor with Canadian citizenship, you are eligible to get proof of Canadian citizenship.

I believe Ireland also has multigenerational foreign citizenship, so that's another one.
